Why is the Bible Important?

What’s your relationship like with the Bible? Do you read it daily? Weekly? Just in times of need?

Hands down, the Bible is the most important book you will ever read. It contains everything we need to live righteously. It’s our manual for life, a relationship builder with God, and an endless source of truth. That’s why it’s essential as a believer that you read it every day and memorize verses that will serve you throughout your day.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 says, “All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.” The Bible does all of this! Let’s dig in a little deeper.

The Bible Reveals the Truth

We live in a world where there is a big clash of worldviews. Everybody wants to define their own “truth.” This gets messy quickly. Why? Because there can only be one truth. That truth is found in the Bible.

God’s truth gives us a firm foundation on which to build our lives. It helps us to stand firm against the storms of life and the confusing onslaught of the different worldly messages we hear throughout our day. When the Bible is a part of our everyday lives, it ensures we stay rooted in God’s truth and aren’t led away into sin.

God’s Word Teaches Us How to Live

Life can get confusing, there’s no doubt about it. Everyone from our peers to the media wants to tell us how to live. Sometimes, it can be hard to know what is right! Sometimes, a lot of different options can sound like they are good ones! But how do we make sure that we are living God’s way?

Having a vibrant relationship with God’s Word is key. As we invest in our Bible daily, God reshapes our hearts and minds from the inside out. He reveals His will for our lives and teaches us how to live, step by step.
