3 Ways That God Reveals His Purpose for Your Life

Did you know that God has a specific purpose for your life? When He created you, He already knew His designs for what you would accomplish. Not only that, but He has given you a unique perspective and skill-set to follow through on your calling. He wants to walk alongside you every step of the way as you develop those skills, grow closer to Him, and embark on your mission.

God is calling you on a grand adventure! But how does He reveal His purpose for your life?

A Daily Bible Reading Plan

The Bible is the Word of God, given to us as our manual for life. In it, we learn more about Him, ourselves, and the history of the world. As God reveals more about His character through the Scriptures, He also reveals His plans for our lives! God's Word is alive, speaking directly into the heart of every believer who reads it. He has something to say directly to you through the Bible! When you commit to a daily Bible reading plan, God uses what you learn to inspire you towards your calling in life. God's promise of purpose for your life shines brightly through the Scriptures: "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future" (Jeremiah 29:11).

Prayer

Prayer is powerful! There are things that God will show us through prayer that we can learn no other way. Jeremiah 33:3 says, "Call to me, and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know" (NIV). You can't find your God-given purpose without consulting God through prayer! Coupled with your daily Bible reading plan, prayer will make clear God's plan for your life.

 Fellowship With Other Believers

The encouragement that we receive from our brothers and sisters in Christ is irreplaceable. The Lord has put us in each other's lives to build each other up and walk together through everyday life. 1 Thessalonians 5:11 instructs us to "Encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing" (NIV). When we spend time with other Christians, they can help confirm God's calling on our life. Never hesitate to seek the wisdom of a Christian friend in the process of discerning your path.

Conclusion

God wants you to start living the life He created you to live. As your Father in heaven, it brings Him great joy to see you become everything you can be. The fulfillment that you feel doing so will be unlike anything you've ever experienced. You can start routines today that will lead you to a life-defining purpose in the Lord. Are you ready to step forward into this great adventure that's waiting for you? Reading the Bible, praying to God, and enjoying fellowship with others are your keys to starting on your destined path.
