How Does Faith in Jesus Lead to Salvation?

Jesus is the author and perfector of our faith. Through Him, we have direct access to the Father through prayer. His sacrifice on the cross paved the way to our eternal destiny. He also sends us the Holy Spirit, who controls to fuel our faith and lead us to good works for the cause of God's Kingdom.

Not only did Jesus create the opportunity for us to be saved, but He is also the only way to find salvation. John 14:6 says, "Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (NIV). Without Jesus, we have no salvation. But how does faith in Jesus lead to salvation?

Our Faith in Jesus Allows us Access to God

Our sinful nature separates us from God. There are no deeds that we can do to bridge that gap. It is impossible on our own. Thank God we have Jesus! Ephesians 2:18 says, "Now all of us can come to the Father through the same Holy Spirit because of what Christ has done for us" (NLT). Living a life of faith in Jesus allows us the opportunity to be in a relationship with God once again! There is no greater gift we could ever be given. All we must do is accept it. It's a responsibility we must take seriously, for it determines our eternal fate.

Our Faith in Jesus Sets Us Free

Our faith in Christ gives us true freedom from sin. Sin shackles us, making us feel as if we are bound to committing the same sins. But John 8:36 says, "If the Son sets you free, you are truly free" (NLT). This freedom means that we no longer have to return to the chains that once bound us. We can step boldly forth into new life, embracing the salvation that Jesus so freely gives. Our freedom in Christ comes to define us as children of God.

Our Faith in Jesus Covers Our Sins

God is holy and just. Our sinful nature separates us from God as it clashes with the very holiness that defines Him. Romans 3:25 says, "For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood" (NLT). Jesus' powerful sacrifice covers our sinful nature, as Jesus presents us as holy before God. Being in a relationship with God through Christ brings us salvation and eternal life. We can rest assured that we are loved, cared for, and in God's mighty hand for all time.

Conclusion

God wants to lead us to salvation in Jesus because He loves us unconditionally. He desires more than you could imagine to be in a close relationship with you. That's why He sent His Son, our Lord, and Savior, Jesus. Through Jesus, we are all God's beloved children. Follow Jesus into the arms of the Father today.
